Yitian Sun

I work at the intersection of dark matter, astroparticle physics, and machine learning — building GPU-accelerated tools that connect theories of the early and present-day universe to data. Below are some of my recent research projects and publications.

DM21cm: inhomogeneous energy injection in 21cm cosmology

DM21cm: Inhomogeneous Energy Injection in 21cm Cosmology

A code framework for modeling spatially inhomogeneous energy injection — for example from dark matter decay and annihilation — and its imprint on the 21cm signal during cosmic dawn and reionization. It couples DarkHistory with 21cmFAST to track radiation transport cell-by-cell across the cosmological volume.

High-dimensional inference for the γ-ray sky with differentiable programming

High-dimensional inference for the γ-ray sky with differentiable programming

A differentiable inference framework for Fermi γ-ray data of the Galactic Center, based on the Non-Poissonian Template Fit (NPTF) likelihood. Built with JAX and NumPyro for high-dimensional inference of the Galactic Center Excess, handling flexible templates for both diffuse and point-source components.
